BECOME A COACH / VOLUNTEER

Who is a Coach?

Within the Butterfly Club a club coach is a mentor. Additionally, a coach is a person or friend who guides a less experienced person by building trust and modeling positive behaviors. An effective coach understands that his or her role is to be dependable, engaged, authentic, and tuned into the needs of the coached. The coach takes the coached from where they are to where they need or desires to be.

The number one factor that is required is that each coach/ volunteer desire to impact these young women positively.

As a volunteer, you are expected to assist the Club’s Coach in any way possible. This can be in the preparation of lesson plans, preparing meals or being a listening ear to the girls.

Club meetings for the Saturday clubs start at 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, being punctual is very important.

You are required to be at the meeting half hour before start time and fifteen (15) minutes once the meeting ends. In some cases, until all girls are collected or until they leave. Informing your club coach in the event of your absence is very important, so that we can plan or arrange a replacement.

All club volunteers and coaches are responsible for calling and reminding club members of the upcoming meeting. As well as informing parents of planned/ scheduled events. We require that you be flexible and open to the leading of the club coach and executive team.

As the club expands, there is the opportunity to grow within the club, where coach and volunteer requirements will be adjusted meetings (Saturday clubs).

• Willing to research topics to enhance areas of focus.

• Must be willing to help with servings and preparing lunch if necessary.

• Willing to do community walk-a-bouts to promote the club.

• Commit to introduce at least one person as a potential coach/volunteer during given year.
